Those who are trapped in Britain's socialized health care system are starting to practice a new life skill, that is pulling their own teeth. The do-it-yourself extractions have become necessary because of the government's failure to train new dentists. Threre is also the expence. Dentistry has never been fully funded under the govenment controlled system. and tends to expensive when a dentist can be found. One englishman told of going to Cairo, Egypt to have his dental work done while staying at luxury hotel. He paid about three-quarters of what it would have cost him in the United Kingdom for just the dental work. For those hearty souls who can't wait to take advantage of the state run dental program there are alternatives. One determined woman has successfully removed fourteen teeth so-far using a common pair of pliers. And so-far there are no reports on whether the teeth she extracted were, in fact, all hers.
