| Midwest Regional Video  The atmosphere has become like any major city during rush hour a giant parking lot. So, the storm over the Great Lakes should continue to swirl over the area through Friday and possibly Saturday. That means the chilly rain continues into the weekend. Some areas in northern Wisconsin and northern Michigan have been cold enough to support snow or a mix of rain and snow and that should continue through Friday. High temperatures should be primarily in the mid 40s to mid 50s around the Great Lakes and in the Ohio Valley through Saturday. West of the Mississippi River the influence of the system lessens keeping skies mostly sunny with temperatures in the 60s near the Mississippi to near 80 along the front range of the Rocky Mountains. |
| Northeast Regional Video The storm system spiraling over the Great Lakes will be responsible for the dreary weather in the Northeast this weekend. A steady rain moves in from the southwest tonight and lingers into early Saturday. Saturday afternoon and Sunday the rain should become more showery, however temperatures will continue to be on the cooler side of average. Locally heavy rainfall one to three inches in some locations could lead to some street flooding. Flash flood watches have been posted over sections of New England for Friday and Saturday in anticipation of the heavy rainfall. High temperatures should be mainly in the 50s and lower 60s through the weekend. |
| South Regional Video Cooler-than-average air flowing around the big storm over the Great Lakes invades most of the Southeast through the weekend. Highs temperatures should hover in the upper 60s to middle 70s through Sunday. Periodically disturbances rotating around this parent storm push through the area bringing the threat of passing showers and thunderstorms. Timing of these disturbances is the trick to the forecast through Sunday. Right now it appears a disturbance increases the rain chances from Saturday afternoon (Tennessee, northern Alabama and northern Georgia) through Sunday afternoon (Carolinas). Florida should remain dry Friday through the weekend with warm temperatures. The southern Plains and Texas should be mostly sunny with warming temperatures through the weekend. |
| West Regional Video A ridge of high pressure will dominate the western third of the country keeping skies sunny with warming temperatures through the weekend. High temperatures should easily eclipse the 100-degree mark over all of the deserts with 90s extending from the lower elevations of New Mexico west to the central valley of California. The only cool spots are expected to be the higher elevations with highs in the 50s and 60s and the Northwest coast. |
