Midwest
Regional Video

There will be plenty of weather action across the Midwest on Wednesday as a storm system grows stronger. This system will ride northeastward from the southern Plains to the Great Lakes resulting in a variety of weather conditions. Most of the Upper Midwest will be cool and showery but the punch from this storm will be felt from the lower Great Lakes to south of the Ohio River. In these areas, look for strong to severe thunderstorms. Some storms may contain large hail and damaging winds. A few tornadoes are possible from the Ohio Valley on southward. High temperatures should range from the 50s in parts of the northern Plains and Upper Midwest to the 70s in the lower Midwest.
South

Much of the South will encounter stormy conditions on Wednesday. The threat of severe weather will stretch from Arkansas and Louisiana eastward to Tennessee and western Georgia. Elsewhere, look for morning showers over Oklahoma and eastern Texas and afternoon showers across much of Virginia and the Carolinas. Strong to severe thunderstorms with heavy rain, strong winds and large hail can be expected. High temperatures are expected to range from the 60s in the Oklahoma and Texas Panhandles to over 100 in far south Texas. The Deep South will see highs the 70s and 80s.

A pesky ocean storm will hang on to produce more showers and chilly temperatures across much of New England. Look for windy conditions across coastal sections of Maine. Most of the rest of the region will be dry and mild. High temperatures are forecast to range from the 50s over much of New England to the 70s from western New York State southward.
West

Some of the best weather conditions across the nation will be found in the West on Wednesday. The only exception will be some rain and snow showers across parts of eastern Montana and northeastern Wyoming. Look for another delightful day across the Pacific Northwest. Temperatures will be quite hot across the Desert Southwest for the next several days. Highs are expected to range from the 40s in Yellowstone National Park and Wyoming's Big Horn Mountains to over 100 in parts of southeast California and southwest Arizona. The southern San Joaquin Valley in California may top 90 while Oregon's Willamette Valley enjoys highs in the 70s.
