Security and law enforcement officials have a new concern, terrorists who do not fit the usual profile. Federal authorities are notifying those charged with protecting the nation against the terrorist threat that Al-Qaeda and other terrorist organizations are recruiting agents who do not appear Arabic or middle eastern. There are strong indications that Al-Qaeda has been recruiting Women in Chechnya who appear European and therefore less likely to arouse suspicion than someone of middle-eastern origin. It has been known for some time that non-Arabs made up a significant number of those who were trained in Al-Qaeda camps before their destruction by US forces.
