Parts of the Northeast are bracing for yet another pre-winter snowstorm, and this one may, in some ways, be worse than last week's blizzard. Along the coast, up to five inches are expected in New York City, three inches in Washington DC, with more possible in the suburbs. Forecasters say the storm will also impact much of southern New England and southwest New Hampshire with 10 to 20 inches of snow, with nearly a foot expected in Boston before changing over to sleet and freezing rain.
Five hundred plows and 350 salt spreaders are ready for the second onslaught of the season in the Big Apple even as the slush piles from the last storm are barely melted. The National Weather Service says wind gusts could reach up to 50 miles per hour. The storm is moving faster than the one that hit last week but is still expected to last through tomorrow morning.
