Have Guns, Will Demonstrate
(CNSNews.com) - Pro-gun activists plan to gather outside the Ohio Governor's Mansion on Sunday, to protest Gov. Taft's obstruction of concealed carry legislation. Ohioans For Concealed Carry said the protestors will openly carry their sidearms in a public park adjoining the governor's house. Over the past two months, hundreds of Ohioans have taken part in 'defense walks' around the state, to protest the failure of their elected officials enact concealed-carry legislation. Ohio gun owners accuse Gov. Taft, a Republican, of campaigning on a promise to pass concealed carry legislation - a promise he has not kept. Gun owners say Taft keeps changing the conditions under which he would sign a concealed carry bill, and they want lawmakers to do the job - with or without the governor's support. Ohio is one of only five states that does not have a concealed carry law. However, the Ohio Supreme Court ruled in September that openly carrying a firearm is a fundamental right protected by the state Constitution.
