U.N. continues to grasp for power

A committee of the United Nations made up of sixteen member states is recommending an increase in the power of the U.N. to intervene in the affairs of sovereign nations. The change of policy would mean that the U.N. would be abandoning its rule of non-intervention in the internals affairs of member nations. Under the reorganization plan the U.N. would establish a so-called Peace-Building Commission. The commission would look for places where it could involve itself and at first offer help and or advice to parties in conflict. However if that advice is not taken then there would first be a warning and then if the U.N. bureaucracy chooses those not responding in a suitable manner would be invaded militarily. Armed conflict would not be the only excuse used for U.N. action. Poverty, disease epidemics and environmental disasters could prompt U.N. interference inside a given country.
