CBS does it again

In a story aired on the CBS Evening News Tuesday September 28th reporter Richard Schlesinger presented a story that claimed people are worried that the Bush administration is planning to reinstitute the draft. In the segment a woman who was identified as an average American mother of two sons shared her deep fear of her boys being forced into the military. The only problem is that none of the story appears to be grounded in fact. Rather than being a policy option of the current administration the draft renewal rumor is an Internet hoax. And what about the average American mom? Well it turns out that that Beverly Cocco is local chapter president of People Against the Draft, an organization whose national leadership doesn’t a seem to have any Republican members. So far no word from CBS about what seems to be a made up hit piece intended to harm the President's re-election effort.
