A new survey of public school teachers conducted by the Thomas B. Fordham Institute finds that more than 25% of public school teachers do not trust the the state run schools with the education of their own children. The survey of teachers in Washington and Baltimore showed 28% and 35% respectively go to the extra expence and trouble of private education to spare their children the dangers and mediocraty of the public schools. In some areas the numbers are even higher. 41% of Cincinnnati, Ohio's teachers have baled on the tax financed system, and in Philidelphia 44%, nearly half, wouldn't place their own youngsters in the system for which they are responsible. The numbers are even more extraordinary when compared to the percentage of the general public who are able to privately educate their children, roughly 12.5%. - New assaults on Republican political offices - Republicans may end income tax - North Carolina’s Republicans tell homosexuals that their values are not the same - Americans don't believe that the federal government knows best when it comes to emergencies - Conservative Republicans Unhappy with Direction of Party - Activists Aim to Frustrate, Disrupt Republican Convention - House Republicans hope to undo damage done by D.C. gun laws - Who Is John Edwards?
