DaimlerChrysler's July U.S. Auto Sales Rise 5.8% to 208,581

Aug. 3 (Bloomberg) -- DaimlerChrysler AG, the world's fifth-largest automaker, said U.S. sales of Chrysler group and Mercedes-Benz vehicles in July rose 5.8 percent to 208,581. Chrysler sold 189,619 Jeep, Dodge and Chrysler vehicles, an increase of 6.3 percent from the same month last year, the Stuttgart, Germany-based company said in a statement on PR Newswire. Chrysler group sales rose 2.4 percent when adjusted for one more sales day in July than in the same month last year. Unadjusted Mercedes sales rose 1.2 percent to 18,962 vehicles.
