From Law & Civil Rights comes a dynamic listing of various polls taken by media sources pertaining to the Gay Marriage and Constitutional Amendment being discussed in Congress to ban it.

The numbers may surprise you.  Guess what?  By and large, American's aren't as willing to accept Gay Marriage as one would think by watching the major network news.  And, it depends on which demographic group is being polled.  For instance, young people are more willing to accept Gay Marriage and less likely to support an amendment to ban it.  And, people living in the Midwest are less likely to approve of Gays marrying than those living in the New England region.  The biggest surprise, however, is that regardless of how most people feel about Gay Marriage, only a small percentage would like the issue to take prominence in the November election.

What does this say about citizens' political affiliation versus their core moral beliefs?  Again, the numbers are a bit surprising.
