A stalled frontal boundary continues to be the focus for showers and thunderstorms across Florida today, and will continue to do so throughout much of the week ahead.

High pressure moving from the Ohio Valley through the Mid-Atlantic over the next few days will keep an onshore wind blowing across the Florida Peninsula and the Southeast Coast, bringing a threat of dangerous rip currents, coastal flooding, and beach erosion from the Delmarva Peninsula down through Florida's East Coast for much of the week ahead.

Elsewhere, dry weather is expected throughout the week ahead with near average temperatures.

Highs today will range from the 50s in the Virginia and North Carolina Mountains to the 80s in South Florida and the Rio Grande Valley.

A few showers and thunderstorms are possible over the Intermountain West on Wednesday.

Another upper level trough will move into the Pacific Northwest on Thursday and bring a chance of valley rain and mountain snow to the Central Rockies on Friday.

High temperatures are expected to be above average over much of the West today and tomorrow.

Besides a few snow showers over northern Maine tomorrow, the next chance of precipitation moves into the region on Thursday, followed by sunny skies on Friday with cooler temperatures.

Highs today will range from the 30s over northern Maine to the 60s over western West Virginia.

Highs tomorrow will range from the 40s over Northern New England to the 70s in southern West Virginia.

A dry start to the week in the Midwest today, with rain possible in the western Dakotas tomorrow ahead of a cold front that will bring a chill to the air over much of the Upper Midwest for the middle and latter parts of the work week ahead.

Rain is possible over the Great Lakes on Wednesday, with some snow possible over northern Minnesota on Wednesday.

After a break from precipitation on Thursday, rain returns to the Upper Mississippi Valley and Central Plains on Friday, moving east to the Great Lakes and Middle Mississippi Valley on Saturday.
