South Regional Video More rain is on the way for the drought plagued Southeast today as a surface cold front continues to move through the region and an upper level low holds in place over the Red River Valley. The front will continue to move eastward and off shore, while the upper level low meanders over the Southern Plains and Lower Mississippi Valley for the next few days. This upper level low eventually gets picked up by the jet stream and opens up into a trough, and moves towards the Northeast by the weekend. While the low sits in place, cool and rainy weather is expected over much of the region. By the weekend, the only rain will be along the Southeast Coast and in Florida. Highs today will range from the 50s under the upper level low in the Lower Mississippi Valley to the 90s in the western Florida Peninsula. Highs tomorrow will range from the 50s over the Lower Mississippi Valley to the 80s in the Rio Grande Valley, Florida Peninsula, and eastern Carolinas.

Midwest Regional Video Drought plagued portions of the Ohio Valley are also due to get some more desperately needed rains today. Rainfall amounts over an inch#with locally heavier amounts#are expected in the Ohio Valley as a cold front moves through the area. Rain chances will persist over the Ohio Valley (and grow to include the Mid Mississippi Valley on Thursday) through Friday as an upper level low meanders over the Lower Mississippi Valley and Southern Plains before northeastward through the Ohio Valley by Friday. A few showers are still possible on Saturday near the Great Lakes, with the region staying dry Sunday. Highs today will range from the 40s in northeastern Minnesota to the 70s in western Kansas and western Nebraska. Highs tomorrow will range from the 40s near Lake Superior to the 70s in the western Plains.

Northeast Regional Video Rain is also expected in the Northeast today as a cold front moves through the region. Rain will move into the Megalopolis later today and continue into the morning hours tomorrow before dissipating during the afternoon tomorrow. As the front moves through, cooler temperatures will return to the region. Rain will spread across the region once again Friday and Saturday as the upper level low over the Lower Mississippi Valley and Southern Plains moves northeast and brings a surface low and cold front with it. A few showers will linger over New England on Sunday. Highs today will range from the 50s in the interior to the 70s near the coast. Highs tomorrow will range from the 40s in northern Maine to the 60s in the Megalopolis.

West Regional Video Another day of dry and windy conditions are on the way for Southern California, with a high wind warning and red flag warning posted for the high winds and high fire danger. High winds will also be an issue in portions of northwestern Montana, where a high wind warning is also in effect on the northeast side of the high over the Great Basin. As the high begins to weaken and move into the Plains, the winds will begin to subside into tomorrow and Wednesday. Afternoon highs will climb over the next few days before an upper level trough moves into the Pacific Northwest towards the end of the week bringing an increase in the precipitation chances and cooler temperatures to the Northwest. Highs today will range from the 40s near Yellowstone National Park to the 90s in the Lower Colorado Valley and near Los Angeles. Highs tomorrow will range from the 40s in the northern Washington Cascades to the 80s in the Colorado River Valley.
