Record calls book’s charges into question By: John Russell | Source: IRN NEWS March 24, 2004 9:40PM EST
The startling charges made in the book by one time counter terrorism expert Richard Clark are starting to draw closer scrutiny especially the claim that president Bush ignored the threat from Al-Qaeda until after the 9-11 attacks. In a 2002 briefing given to members of the press Clark said that it was the Clinton administration that had no plan for dealing with the terrorist organization and that the president was vigorously pursuing a way to deal with the problem. These and other contradictory statements made earlier by Clark are not only calling into question the accuracy of his charges but perhaps the motive behind them. - Congressional Black Caucus's Ties to Aristide Questioned - New York City Gas Prices at Record High - Nets almost set futility record in loss to Pistons - Suspicions about Kerry records theft - Timing of Clinton Memoir Is Everything, for Kerry - Gorelick Memo Allegedly Impeded Probe of Clinton Fundraising Scandal - Oil Falls From 13-Year High as Saudi Calls for More OPEC Output - NAACP Legal Group's Integrity Called Into Question - Minority group calls Environmentalists “elitists’ - Teresa: Bush Enviro Record 'a Sin Against Humankind' - PIoneering Overnight Radio Show Host Forced Into Retirement - Retired Green Beret calls Kerry on Vietnam claims - Fred Barnes calls Michael Moore a liar - Drug Smuggler Claims He May Have Snuck 9/11 Hijackers into US - Kerry's Senate Record Mixed on Defense Spending - Bush Campaign Tops Goal of Record $170 Million - U.S. Economy: Trade Gap Widened to Record in March - Gore Demands Clintonista Tenet Resign - Clinton to rescue Kerry campaign? - Former Army officer calls Kerry a bald faced liar - Record Heat Bakes California, Showers/Thunder for Northeast - Dinosaur Extinction Theory Questioned - Suspicious white powder found in mail at Bill Clinton's office - Britain charges upkeep for those falsely imprisoned - Flight recorder found in UN filing cabinet - NBC: Clinton Ordered Bin Laden Spared - Salary, Conflict-of-Interest Policies at NIH Are Questioned - Kerry’s former bosses challenge his record - Clinton security report made no mention of Al-Qaeda - Kerry’s liberal voting record - The difficult question of George W.
