Kerry stumbles again with Jewish voters

Democratic presidential hopeful John Kerry is in hot water with an important part of his party’s traditional constituency, Jewish voters. In a 1997 book Kerry described terrorist leader Yasser Arafat as a statesman and a role model. Now, however Kerry is saying that Arafat is not one of the good guys, says Kerry, ”As far as I’m concerned, he’s an outlaw to the peace process.” Senator Norm Coleman (R-Minn) says, “Yasser Arafat has been a terrorist from the beginning, to the middle, to the end.” The Arafat gaffe comes after Kerry angered Jewish voters by saying that he would use former president Jimmy Carter to act as his representative in the so-called mid-East peace process.
