The Pentagon’s so-called Total Awareness Program, or TIA, that would have allowed the government to sift through the personal information of every American allegedly to track terrorists was supposed to have come to an end when Congress ended its funding. However it turns out that the program is continuing under other names through such agencies as the Department of Homeland Security, the Defense Department and the Justice Department.
