Congressman says mosques promote extremism By: John Russell | Source: IRN NEWS February 13, 2004 5:00PM EST
A New York congressman says that fully 85% of the Mosques in this country are headed by radicals that present a danger to the security of the Untied States. Rep. Peter T. King (R-N.Y.) also says that America’s Muslim population has not been forthcoming in providing information regarding terrorist activity. Though King’s statements have elicited near hysterical reactions from Muslim front groups, he stands by them. At least one American Islamic leader supports what King is saying. The chairman of the Islamic Supreme Council of America said in testimony before a State Department committee that more than 80% of those in positions of authority in the nation’s mosques are radicals who are passing this extremism on to the next generation of American Muslims. - More Mosques in France Falling Under Sway of Radicals - Stop the Medicare Ad Blitz, Taxpayer Group Says - John Edwards 'Increased the Cost of Medicine', Former Associate Says - Rep says US would have already bombed the Palestinians for terror attacks - Assistant Ford promoted to replace Ayers - Nasa says 'no' to Hubble reprieve - Human Life Begins at Conception, SD Legislature Says - Gun Control Hasn't Helped Chicago, Group Says - Professor says the president will win by a landslide - 'We're changing world for the better', says Bush - US War on Terror May Spread to Syria, Report Says - N.Korea May Have Nuclear Weapons, UN Agency Says - Exclusive: TSA’s Email Threat ‘Last Straw’ for Congressman - Judge Says Part of Patriot Act Is Unconstitutional - Islamic extremism key challenge to U.S.: general - Oklahoma City Bombing: Ex-congressman's aide has video of explosion?
