(CNSNews.com) - A conservative group is counting down the days until Feb. 11th , when the Massachusetts Legislature will vote to approve or block the Marriage Affirmation and Protection Amendment (MA & PA) from being placed on the ballot so voters can decide whether to legalize same-sex marriage.

The Family Research Center has launched its "Marriage Countdown Clock" on its website.

"The amount of time we have to protect the institution of marriage in Massachusetts - and throughout America - is clearly running out," said FRC President Tony Perkins.

"The clock on our website serves to remind us all that in just 12 short days, the Massachusetts State Legislature will decide whether or not the institution of marriage will be granted a reprieve from that Supreme Judicial Court's outrageous decision last November," Perkins said.

"The February 11th voter is important not just for the people of Massachusetts, but for all Americans.

"If out-of-state same-sex couples are permitted to 'marry' in Massachusetts and then move back to a state where their union is not recognized, both the state and federal Defense of Marriage Acts will be left in the hands of an activist federal judiciary," Perkins added.
