Northeast Regional Video
An offshore storm will keep the Mid-Atlantic region damp and breezy Monday, with the bulk of the rain falling in southeastern Pennsylvania, central and southern New Jersey, the Delmarva Peninsula and eastern Virginia. Partly cloudy skies will prevail farther north in New England. High temperatures are forecast to range from the 50s in rainy northern Virginia and parts of the Delmarva to the 60s just about everywhere else. |
South Regional Video
Precipitation will affect several areas of the South Monday. An offshore storm will spin showers into northeast North Carolina. A decaying frontal boundary will provide the focus for scattered showers and thunderstorms along the central Gulf Coast, southern Georgia and northern Florida. And a warm front may spread some showers and thunderstorms from the western Gulf Coast into the lower Mississippi Valley, Louisiana, eastern Texas, much of Oklahoma and Arkansas. A few severe storms could erupt in Louisiana, eastern Texas, eastern Oklahoma and extreme southern Arkansas. High temperatures are expected to range from the 60s in most of North Carolina to just over 100 in parts of Texas: the Rio Grande Valley and Trans-Pecos region. Readings in the 70s and 80s will be common in the Deep South. |
Midwest Regional Video
Showers and thunderstorms will be scattered over the Upper Midwest, Great Plains and portions of the lower Midwest--Iowa, Illinois and Missouri--as a Pacific cold front pushes eastward Monday. A few severe thunderstorms may blossom along the front in the afternoon from southwest Minnesota/southeast South Dakota southward into Kansas. Dry weather is forecast for Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. High temperatures will range from the upper 50s in far western South Dakota to the 80s in south-central Nebraska and western Kansas. The 70s will be common in the lower Midwest. |
West Regional Video
A few showers (mountain snow showers) and isolated thunderstorms are likely in parts of the West Monday, mainly Wyoming, Colorado and northern Utah, and to a lesser extent in western Montana and the Washington Cascades. Sunshine is expected to bathe California, southern Nevada, Arizona and New Mexico. High temperatures will cover a vast range: from the 40s in the Washington Cascades and northern Rockies to over 100 in southwest Arizona and California's Death Valley. The Central Valley of the Golden State will enjoy highs in the 80s. |
