Midwest Regional Video
A general area of low pressure aloft will keep parts of the Great Lakes and Ohio Valley areas unsettled. Look for showers across the Great Lakes and scattered thunderstorms in the Ohio Valley. Although there may be some small hail with the thunderstorms, none of them are expected to become severe. Parts of the southern Plains may see some scattered severe thunderstorms on Tuesday as more energy aloft moves out of the Rockies. High temperatures on Tuesday will range from the 60s in the northern Great Lakes to the 80s in the central and southern Plains. |
South Regional Video
A weak cold front will stretch from the Ohio valley down through Oklahoma on Tuesday. The result will be isolated thunderstorms from the western Carolinas back to the Mississippi River and scattered strong to severe thunderstorms across parts of Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle. Highs on Tuesday will reach well into the 90s across western Texas and 80s will prevail across the Deep South and Gulf region. Look for 70s across most of North Carolina, Virginia and eastern Tennessee. |
Northeast Regional Video
An Atlantic storm is being blocked and precipitation is actually moving westward into parts of New England. The persistent easterly wind is also keeping temperatures down. Rain will spread westward from Maine into New Hampshire and Vermont. Rain should continue into Wednesday before the storm lifts northeast into Canada. The rest of the region will see some sunshine and mild temperatures. Highs on Tuesday will range from the 40s over much of Maine to the 70s over the Middle Atlantic region. |
West Regional Video
Look for windy conditions with areas of light rain and higher elevation snow across the northern Rockies. The central Rockies will see some isolated thunderstorms. A few thunderstorms could be severe with large hail and gusty winds. The remainder of the western third of the country should remain dry through Wednesday. Hot temperatures will be the story across the deserts Tuesday and Wednesday with afternoon highs ranging from 95 to 105 degrees. |
