There could be a stray shower here and there in the Northeast, but the vast majority of the region will experience of mix of sunshine and clouds and temperatures close to end-of-April norms. Highs are forecast to range from the upper 40s in the highest reaches of the Adirondacks and extreme northern portions of New England to the 70s from about Philadelphia southward through much of Virginia.

South Regional Video
Much of the Southeast will enjoy sunny to partly cloudy skies today, but the Carolinas and South Florida may be plagued by a scattering of showers and thunderstorms. Farther west, isolated showers and storms are forecast to dot parts of south and West Texas. Temperatures will be largely seasonal with highs ranging from the 60s in the southern Appalachians and parts of the eastern Carolinas to the 80s in most of Florida, parts of Texas and western Oklahoma. |
Midwest Regional Video
Except for an isolated shower or storm here and there, the Midwest and Great Plains should enjoy pleasant weather with skies ranging from sunny to partly cloudy and temperatures near or above seasonal averages. Highs are expected to range from the 50s in northern Michigan, extreme eastern Wisconsin (adjacent to Lake Michigan) and the Arrowhead of Minnesota to the 80s in western Kansas. Maxima in the 70s will be widespread.
|
West Regional Video
A fairly vigorous upper-air disturbance will trigger isolated/scattered showers and thunderstorms over Southern California and the Southwest today, but nothing particularly heavy. A weaker upper-air disturbance will fire off some isolated showers and storms over Montana and far northern Wyoming. To the west, a surge of Pacific moisture will tickle a few showers to life over western Washington. Elsewhere in the West, look for dry weather and a good deal sunshine. Temperatures will range from below late April means in Southern California and Arizona to noticeably above just about everywhere else. Maxima in the 60s and 70s will be widespread. The 80s should make an appearance in California's Sacramento and Sonoma Valleys and also at a few spots in the Southwest. |
