Despite the effort the camouflage John Kerry as a centrist his voting record shows a senator far more comfortable with the voting habits of Ted Kennedy when it comes to social issues and taxes. While Kerry’s votes on trade policy are supposed to distance him from the radical wing of the Democratic Party his record on special rights for homosexuals, supporting the abortion industry and attacking the second amendment place him firmly on the left side of the Isle. On taxes Kerry rates an 18 out of a possible 100 by the National Taxpayers Union. David Keating of the Club for Growth says of Kerry, “If you like Ted Kennedy, you will like John Kerry on spending.”
