A state of emergency exists with our dangerously porous borders that could lead to
an apocalyptic fate for the beacon of the free world and Western civilization

What does it take for our government to galvanize into action against an impending threat? Uncontrolled immigration is one such threat, and the ramifications go far beyond what is being widely reported.

Huge Economic Toll
The economic problems that are accruing daily from uncontrolled immigration are staggering—and growing. From 2000 to 2004, 2.4 million Mexicans alone immigrated into the U.S., 85 % of them illegally (Star Parker, “Mexico, U.S. Must Solve Immigration Problem,” TownHall.com, August 22, 2005).

On August 15, Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano declared an emergency in four border counties because of problems related to lax border enforcement. Arizona is the nation's busiest entry point for illegal border-crossings, and illegal immigration has emerged as a huge economic issue. Crimes and other problems associated with the border include illegal immigration, vehicle thefts, drug smuggling and property damage, among others.

Three days prior to Napolitano’s action, New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson had declared a state of emergency along the Mexico border, as well.

California has been recognized for years as a hotbed of illegal immigration problems. The Pew Hispanic Center in Washington reports that there are 10.3 million illegal immigrants in the U.S. today, with the largest concentration in California. More than half of them—57 percent—are from Mexico. That amounts to 5.8 million illegals who are siphoning off health, education and housing benefits in one state alone, while bringing a huge rise in crime to a state that is virtually collapsing from the strain.

More Than A Runaway Immigration Problem
But there is far more to the runaway immigration problem than economics. There has been so much debate over economic issues that we have lost sight of an even more serious matter: the growing danger from terrorists who declare they will launch a nuclear attack against us on our soil.

According to an article by Bill Wilson, published by Koenig’s International News (KIN) at www.watch.org on July 22, 2005, “A nuclear end to the United States within the next year is predicted by several intelligence analysts if a plan by Osama bin Laden is executed, sealing an apocalyptic fate for the beacon of the free world and Western civilization.”

The article at www.watch.org presented material obtained by Paul L. Williams, investigative journalist, former FBI consultant and author of Osama's Revenge: The Next 9/11. In the process of writing the book, Williams conducted extensive interviews with the intelligence community and analyzed reports and news stories that led him to conclude that al Qaeda terrorists have nuclear weapons—some of them in the United States—and they plan to coordinate simultaneous, devastating attacks against us on the U.S. mainland—possibly by the end of 2005.

During an interview with NewsMax.com, Williams said information he has obtained indicates that al Qaeda terrorists plan to carry out such attacks through the use of suitcase-sized tactical nuclear weapons.

This is horrifying, if true.

Hobbled by “PC”
The first question we would ask, if we assign any credibility at all to such threats is, Why do we seem to be sitting here, just waiting for such a calamity?

First of all, there is the huge and glaring fact of our porous borders. Congress seems disposed to ignore the dangers posed by lack of security at our borders, and “political correctness” has hobbled the attempts to surveil and profile the most likely perpetrators of terror. The border problem has been politicized to the extent that even such clear-cut measures for self-preservation are difficult, if not impossible, to move through Congress.
The bombings in Madrid and London and the 9/11 terrorist attacks here all grew out of a “politically correct” unwillingness to filter out people according to the countries they come from. The hand wringing about “profiling” Middle Eastern airline passengers virtually assured that human time bombs from the Arab world would continue to pour across the borders. Ultimately, this “Russian Roulette” trap, with the game rigged in favor of terrorists, caught up with us on 9-11. Thousands of Americans might still be alive if we had banned immigration from Saudi Arabia.
The bleeding heart, “citizen-of-the-world” liberals are resistant to the idea of tightening our borders, and especially resistant to the idea that we should make a distinction between people from countries who are our allies, and those that are not. They like to point out that the great majority of people—say 85 percent—from Saudi Arabia, for example, are “fine people.” They ignore the fact that 15 percent may be highly undesirable, and among that segment is the even smaller—but deadlier—component of those who will ultimately make their way into the U.S. with a nuke in a suitcase. In our opinion, those are lousy odds.
The public will to address this vulnerability has been significantly diminished by the systematic “PC” agenda of the Left to insure that immigration joins the long list of subjects that are not openly examined in the arena of public debate. It is the new “third rail” of politics that has made cowards of the politicians who are fearful they will lose the Hispanic vote and terrified they will be demonized in the media and lose other votes as well
“PC” has intimidated many Americans to the point that they no longer recognize that, first of all, self-preservation must be a number one priority in our immigration policy; and secondly, we should not have to apologize for denying access to undesirable elements who mean us harm.
Thomas Sowell points out that Russia and Nigeria are always listed among the most corrupt countries on earth, and that Russian and Nigerian immigrants in the U.S. have already established patterns of crime well known to law enforcement. And yet, that information has been concealed from the public by the mainstream media (“Immigration Taboos,” TownHall.com, Aug. 16, 2005).
Playing politics with such issues may well be our undoing.

Countdown to Terrorism
Paul Williams’ information is given more credibility by a recent book written by House Armed Services Vice Chairman, Curt Weldon (R-PA) entitled, Countdown to Terrorism. In his book, Weldon references a similar operation dubbed “The 12th Imam” by an Iranian terrorist coordinating committee that provides strategic direction to organizations such as al Qaeda, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah and others.

Both Williams and Weldon say they have had to take their information public because intelligence officers in the Federal government and within the Bush Administration have not acknowledged the threat.

Weldon's book cites a well-connected Iranian resistance source that has provided information about strategies and plans for terrorist attacks that have been amazingly accurate. The book, written and released earlier this year, contains a reference from that source that forecast a bombing operation in London.

The world's deadliest terrorist groups receive strategic direction, Weldon says, from a group in Iran called the “Committee of Nine.” According to Weldon’s information, this coordinating committee has been planning an apocalyptic attack on the United States similar to what is prophesied in the Bible upon the return of Jesus Christ.

There is little question that Iran is a focal point of world terror. They unquestionably have nuclear capabilities, and they are definitely not pro-democratic.

Time does not appear to be on our side, if Williams is correct. He states, “We know from Pakistani, and Saudi and Israeli and British and Russian sources that in 1996, when [Osama bin Laden] returned to Afghanistan, he purchased tactical nuclear weapons from the Chechen mafia. At that time, the black market was flooded with nuclear weapons due to the disintegration of the Soviet Union. Germany, in 1996, reported 700 incidents of the sale of nuclear weapons and materials.”

Williams believes bin Laden is patiently deploying them across the porous borders of the United States for final detonation in various U.S. cities, including New York, Washington, D.C., Miami, Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Houston, and Denver. Williams says intelligence obtained from confiscated laptops of nuclear scientists confirms that perhaps as many as 20 nuclear weapons have been deployed inside our borders.

President George W. Bush, in his July 11 address in Quantico, Virginia, about the war on terror, made specific mention of the nuclear threat: “We're working with our allies to share information, and to prevent terrorists from obtaining weapons of mass destruction. Thanks to the hard work of hundreds in our intelligence community, we have stopped a number of grave threats to the American people. Together with our allies, we uncovered and dismantled Libya's nuclear program. We worked with Pakistan and other nations to shut down the world's most dangerous nuclear trading network. And since September the 11th, our coalition has disrupted a number of al Qaeda terrorist plots, arrested al Qaeda operatives here to case specific U.S. targets, and caught others trying to sneak into our country.”

This is comforting, but it says little about border security. According to Williams (and reported in Time magazine), one weapon developed by bin Laden was forward deployed to Mexico and transported over our borders. According to Sheik Kabani, the president of the Supreme Islamic Council of North America, at least 20 tactical nukes are here, Williams says.

Both Williams and Congressman Weldon agree that the Patriot Act must be renewed and that Bush must be given more support to fight terrorism. Williams says the U.S. government must get control of its borders and “take off the gloves and go into the mosques in the U.S. and ferret out the extremists.” According to Williams, 80 percent of the mosques in the U.S. right now have been radicalized and are hotbeds for al Qaeda.

Dr. Graham Allison of Harvard University, one of the leading experts on counter-terrorism, agrees with Williams that a nuclear incident from al Qaeda will occur within the United States, possibly by the end of the year.

The nukes have not been detonated yet. But Williams, Weldon, Allison and others believe they will be. We could be facing an apocalypse of destruction in America.

Those with discernment must act now. The Lord God, Jehovah, promises in 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

“PC,” hard-core partisan politics, and the blindness of many of our leaders are certainly responsible for security failures that have put us in danger. However, the sin and rampant moral degeneracy in this country have contributed greatly to put us in serious peril. Every believer in America should be in daily prayer, asking for God’s forgiveness and help.

May God have mercy upon this nation.
